                     Trade occupations offer diverse career opportunities with strong demand in various sectors. They often involve specialized training, apprenticeships, or certification programs, making them accessible paths to rewarding and stable careers. In 2023, several trade occupations are likely to remain excellent choices for immigration to Canada. Canada continues to experience a strong demand for skilled tradespeople across various sectors. The Canadian government recognizes the importance of trade professionals and has created immigration programs and pathways that prioritize individuals with various skills. To address this supply-demand imbalance, Canada included a new Trades occupation (2023-1) category to Express Entry submissions for PR.  Furthermore, IRCC will invite qualified professionals with six months or more of continuous relevant experience in the last three years, working in or outside of Canada, to apply.

Eligibility

To be eligible for trade occupation category the profile must: Follow all qualifying requirements for one of Canada’s express entry programs, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Trades program. Have a minimum of 6 months of work experience in one of the following vocations in the prior three years of overall work experience. Comply with all of the additional requirements outlined in the round’s guidelines
